Fall Dinner Party Recap

Last night, I hosted a few girlfriends at my place for a fall/Halloween dinner.  We had so much fun!  I will be the first to admit Halloween is not my favorite holiday, but I do love a good themed dinner.  A few weeks ago I found this cute Halloween platter on sale at Target.  All it took was one platter and I was inspired to host a dinner!

Holiday parties are so much fun because you can be creative with more things than just the food.  I tried to be as subtlety festive as possible…

I love this plate/board my mom got me for Christmas… it has come in handy so many times!

Fall Flowers centerpiece inspired my our post Wednesday!

My Nana actully decoupaged (she’s an expert) this tray for me last year and it is great for entertaining!  The colors worked perfectly with the theme and it was a great thing to place my candy dishes and wine on.

Side Note:  those are the candy corn M&M’s…I hate candy corn but those M&M’s are out of this world.

I bought these wine glass labels at Target this summer for my Stella and Dot party, but never used them because I ended up going with plastic glasses.  These are a cute way to make sure everyone knows whose glass is whose

Now onto the meal… a few girls brought some appetizers and I took care of the rest of the meal.  I made Spinach and Brie stuffed Chicken from a recipe I found on Martha Stewart.  Martha never fails me, the chicken was delicious!  To hold the chicken together I used these Halloween toothpicks I found at Marshalls- how cute!

I also made the Orzo with Tomatoes that comes with the recipe, but added asparagus for some extra veg and bulk.  Sometimes its nice to add some color to a dish ;)

Lastly, I threw together a mixed greens salad with craisins, walnuts and avocado.  We topped the salad with a Trader Joes Light Champagne Vinaigrette Dressing

I forgot to take a picture of the salad, but this is pretty much what it looked like

My friend Marti made the most delicious Pumpkin Crisp with homemade Whipped Cream.  There wasn’t enough time for anyone to snap a picture because this dish was so good.  She is sending my the recipe which I will share later!

Hope y’all have a wonderful day!!
